House Of Hades

Prompt: Summarize the story
Pages: 324-437

In the first few pages  of where I left off in my book two of the heroes, Percy and Annabeth were on their way to the doors of death in the worst part of the underworld called Tartarus.  That evil place is for the worst people like the Titans or slain monsters to reform.  Anyway, they were on their way with their  guide to the underworld, A TITAN!  Although this Titan, was a Titan who was a friend to Percy because he wiped his memory.  Of course the Titan did not remember this.  So on their way they were and they found this altar of Hermes, the messenger god.  The altar was directly liked to Hermes offerings that was coming through from their Camp Half Blood which was a camp for people like Percy and Annabeth.

So after they ate the food from the camp that was offered to Hermes.  After their meal, they continued their journey and had a fight with manifestations of the curses that were over their heads that all the defeated monsters cast on Percy.  Each time they killed one, the curse was unleashed.  Each Percy and Annabeth almost died from the fight with all the curses.  Although Annabeth was eventually fine, Percy was poisoned  with Gorgons blood, the worst poison known ever.  They took him to a giants hut in Tartarus and he healed Percy and gave them food and clothes.  After that they had to go to get a cloaking spell on them to shield them from the all monsters senses at the doors because there was going to be so many of them.  The lady who bestowed this on them turned on them and tried to kill them.

After a little ways journey, they came to their destination which was the Doors Of Death.  While they were there, they were scared so much if they didn't already look dead from the death mist, they would look dead from fright.  As they approached the center of the mob, a Titan stopped them to greet the Titan percy and Annabeth was traveling with.  They are brothers in fact, and the evil Titan was helping the friendly one recall the memories they had with each other.  When they were done they approached the doors of death and met two other Titans that they had to distract.

House Of Hades

Pages 224-268

List at least three problems the characters faced? Which was the most life
changing? Explain

In my book so far Percy has faced many challenges that could have killed him.  One of them is when he was being attacked by five monsters.  They were some that he killed years ago but he went to the place where they reformed and he had an encounter with them.  They were green with long fangs and huge talon like claws.  Luckily, at the last second an old friend came to rescue him.

Another challenge he has faced was the point when he was falling into the underworld and barely survived.  He called upon the water of the underworld and it broke his fall.  Though with doing this he almost lost his memory.  The water was cursed and would wipe the memory of anything.  He saw his whole life play in slow motion when he was in the water.

This is the third and most deadly because it brings the curses of many monsters down on him.  All the monsters he fought, cursed him and it took the form of an ugly winged creature.  Each one he killed unleashed a new curse on him.  In the end of the battle he was poisoned and was only healed a little bit.  The poison was still in him and he slowly started to die.

Blog Post 10/16/13

Prompt: "Why did you choose this to read? Give at least 3 reasons."
House of Hades

115-135

The first reason that I picked this book to read is that I have been waiting for this book to come out since last fall.  I have ben waiting for so long because it is the next book in my favorite series since the third grade.  I was so excited the day before it came out I literally waited on the couch for it to arrive.  Me and my friend were so mad when the author left the main characters in a cliff hanger, we were still getting over it two months after we both finished the book.  After we had gotten over it, we could only think about what would happen next.

The next reason that I wanted this book is that I have been reading the authors book for five years and all of his books that he has published since his first book came out.  I love the way he writes his books and how he described all of the characters and their situations good or bad.  Many times he gives the characters a bad situation and tells EXACTY how they defeat or get out of the situation.  Unlike some other authors, he knows where to leave the characters.

The last reason that I will put down today is that he keeps the characters to their traits no matter what.  He always knows what they need to act like and how they will react to the actions of the others actions.  I like that he does that because it helps me remember what each character is like if i have to remember what they are like if I am taking a test on what I read.  Another reason I like this is because it helps me make inferences on what the character might do next.

Every heart had stopped beating, every breath was held, every eye was fixed immovably upon the man.  As Youth cautiously approached the door, he couldn't help but doubt his beloved.  He approached the right door and stood there for a moment, thinking that he might never see the daylight he loved ever again.  Knowing that the tiger would be the most gruesome one in all the land so he knew he would be introduced to a new definition of pain.  HHe considered what would be behind the door.  He knew that his beloved was semi-barbaric so she cold not reseis a kill.  On the other hand, he knew she loved him more than anything else.  He grasped the knob of the door in his palms and yanked on the door until it drifted forward.  He was so shocked of what came out.  It was the lady!  He turned around and looked deeply into his beloved eyes and imagined how hard it was to make this decision.  Three weeks went by and he heard nothing from the princess.  One day he heard a scream coming from the castle. He ran up to the top.  He ran up to the long flight of stairs until he reached the princesses room.  He saw a giant black beast fly out of the terrace.  It was the jealousy.  The jealously consumed her and all of her humanity.  Youth set off on a quest to find her but of course, he didn't tell anyone where or why he was going.  He set off to find his princess to never return to his wife and children.

Last Olympian:Week of 9/30/13

Pages 300-375

• Prompt: Describe a character that you would like to meet (which doesn’t mean that you
think you would like the character, but that you think the character would be
interesting). List 4 questions that you would ask.

In the book Percy Jackson: Last Olympian.  I would like to ask questions to the character Percy Jackson.  I would like to question this character because he is my favorite character in the book. He is probably my favorite character of all time of all time so far. One question I would ask him would be "What is it like fighting all the monsters you fight on your quest's?".  I would ask this because he has fought a lot of monsters on all of his quest so he would probably give me the best answer   Another question would be  "What quest was your favorite to go on?".  I would ask this because he went on several that he may have liked beside the fact he almost gets killed in all of them.

I would have a few more questions to ask Percy Jackson.  Another question I would as would be "What was it like to be swimming in the River Styx?"  I would ask this question because when he was about to fight probably most important of his life because it would decide the fate of the world.  Another question I would ask would be "What was it like to see all of Manhattan asleep?".  I would ask this because if everybody in a major city was asleep, I would freak out.  Another question i would have would have to be "How do you survive all the fights with the monsters?".  This is a question i would ask because he fights monsters that almost kill him lots of times.

I have a few final questions I would want to ask Percy Jackson.  One of wich is "Which monster was the hardest for you to kill?".  I wanted to ask this because  when he fights monsters he almost dies frequently.  Another question that I would need to ask is "What is your favorite part of being the son of the sea god Poseidon?".  I would ask this because I love to go to the ocean and dive down to the bottom, but then i run out of air so I need to come up for more.  The last question I would ask would be "How cool is it to breathe underwater and never have to come up for air?".  I would ask that question because that is something I have always wanted to do.
